With NZFW coming up soon, i thought now would be a good time to share what else i carry in my camera bag. Apple Airpods: come in super handy to answer calls or speak to your second shooter who is on the other end of the runway. I also listen to podcast in between shows or while editing. Deodorant: super long days at Fashion Week and no one wants to stand next to Mr Smelly in the photographers pit. GoPro Hero Session 5: latest edition to my gear, i use this to record shows especially when there are multiple designers. […]

Brisbane based, Ali Gordon of ModesToBlog modelled the collection for us. Logistically, this shoot took a lot of forward planning with all three of us based in different cities and with a quick turnaround of just 5 days, nothing could be left to chance. I had already photographed Rochelle’s collection at NZFW 2016 show and knew that Auckland’s Viaduct and Silo Park would provide the perfect backdrop to shoot the “Renewal” collection. Concrete, glass and Weathered Steel together complemented the collection’s colour palette. Client […]
I recently had the opportunity to test shoot Hannah from Portfolio Models (Nelson). Hannah, who has been modeling for 2 years is amazing to work with. She is particularly skilled with her flow-posing and in addition to her brunette coloring also has striking blue eyes. Using Auckland’s Viaduct as a setting, we were thrilled with the shots. The Viaduct has so much to offer in terms of backdrops, from monochromatic, concrete silos to the industrial containers and the numerous textured walls. I usually shoot in the studio, but was good to get out and embrace the natural diffused light and […]

I have been shooting 4 fashion weeks a year for the last 2 years now and it’s addictive. So here are some tips that I think would help Avoid using the flash. […]
